New Build out + screenshots
The programmers have put on a red cape, and working well to stitch the game together. There are loose ends all over, but the game is getting very close to completion. Kudos to Rasmus, Glen, Søren and Bo for putting together this build.

SOUND: Main theme
(Kaizer) Kristian has been working on the main theme for the game. It’s a pretty catchy tune.
GRAPHICS: Mid process
The graphics are coming along. Getting something that looks as close as the concept art as possible is definately a challenge. Theres still some way to go, but it is starting to take shape. We were originally making a custom shader, that would make things look more 2d and cartoony. -But, it had to be dropped, as the payoff wasnt good enough pr time to finish.
I didnt get a chance to grab some screens before the programmers started reworking some of the elements, but overall it should give an overview of what visuals that can be expected.

EDIT: Latest Screenshots, in descending order
ART: Graphical User Interface (GUI)
The user interface’s visual style is nearing completion. Below, and image that showcases 3 of the central components: Start Menu, Scoreboard, and Toolbar. The inspiration is gathered from old school train tickets, putting more on a graphical focus on the journey – to compensate from a construction based gameplay.

ART: Scoreboard
This is a suggestion to how the scoreboard will look after a completed level.

Here are the two alpha builds:
http://www.rasmuskr.dk/HappyRails/Happyrails-a1-v2/HappyRails-a1.html
http://www.rasmuskr.dk/HappyRails/Happyrails-a1-v1/HappyRails-a1.html
and YES the train is fubar when it is going right… and yes there is a problem when the track pices are picked up…
ART: 3 Level sketches
We are going to have 3 levels, representing France, England, and Denmark (lvl 3,2,1 respectively). Here are concepts on how they will look. The emphasis is to have a style that allows to combine 3d and 2d elements. The levels should be stylised, while capturing a feeling of the represented country/city. Next in the process will be to design objects for the scene.
